A Nashville chancery judge has granted a temporary restraining order sought by the estate of Dolly Parton against Bryan Seaver, the late singer’s nephew and former head of security.
The order, issued Wednesday, directs Seaver to remain at least 1,000 feet from employees and business partners associated with She’s Alive, LLC, the entity managing Parton’s estate and business interests, according to an order reviewed by Rolling Stone. It also bars disruptive or harassing conduct, entry onto estate property and interference with its business relationships.
The request was brought by Parton’s longtime manager, Danny Nozell, on behalf of She’s Alive. Court filings reviewed by Variety allege that Seaver and his security company, Squadron Augmented Protection Services, engaged in a campaign of threats, intimidation and coercion after Seaver’s dismissal from his security role. The filings allege that communications to estate representatives paired demands for payment with threats involving the Parton brand and its business relationships.
Seaver has denied threatening anyone. In a statement reported by E! News, he called the restraining-order matter “spurious” and a publicity stunt. The temporary order is not a final ruling on the estate’s allegations. A further hearing is scheduled for October 7 in Nashville Chancery Court.
