Chappell Roan returned to The Abbey in West Hollywood on Saturday night for MISTR’s second annual National PrEP Day celebration, joining a celebrity lineup that included Christina Aguilera, Charli XCX, Demi Lovato, Kesha, Kim Petras, Tinashe and others.
The event brought pop culture and public-health advocacy together at one of West Hollywood’s best-known LGBTQ+ venues. TMZ reported that Roan stepped into the DJ booth as “Pink Pony Club” played, creating a full-circle moment at the club widely associated with the inspiration for her hit song. Charli XCX also performed during the night.
People separately reported on the gathering, highlighting appearances by Charli XCX, Khloé Kardashian, Kesha and other guests. The event was organized by MISTR, a telehealth company focused on HIV prevention and treatment, as part of a broader effort to increase awareness of PrEP and reduce stigma around access to HIV prevention services.
For Hollywood Most Wanted, the night was notable not simply because of the celebrity turnout, but because of where it happened. The Abbey has long functioned as both a nightlife destination and a cultural landmark in West Hollywood. Roan’s return added another layer to that history, linking a current pop phenomenon to a venue that has become part of her public story.
National PrEP Day was created to encourage conversation around HIV prevention and access to PrEP. MISTR’s own educational material says barriers can include cost, stigma, privacy concerns and lack of access to providers.
The event also underlined how West Hollywood continues to operate as a meeting point for celebrity, nightlife, public health and LGBTQ+ culture — exactly the kind of local intersection HMW is built to follow.
