Dubbed as ‘The King of Cool,’ Hollywood legend Steve McQueen was arrested for drunk driving in 1972 in Anchorage, Alaska. According to reports, the movie star ripped through town, raising hell on wheels and laying down rubber in his rented Oldsmobile Toronado. When police finally managed to pull him over and perform a sobriety test, he failed in rare form by somersaulting down the white road-line he was ordered to walk on.
Steve McQueen posted bail and left town, but not before drunkly hamming it up with some of the locals and signing autographs while still in handcuffs. The Academy Award-nominated actor who has starred in such films as The Magnificent Seven (1960) and The Great Escape (1963) was later convicted in absentia for reckless driving.
