Actor Ryan O’Neal, 65, was arrested in Los Angeles officers on February 4, 2007 and charged with assault and negligent discharge of a firearm against his 42-year-old son, Griffin.
Based on the interview with O’Neal, Griffin grazed him for at least five times with the fireplace poker, eventually hitting his girlfriend in the head. O’Neal headed to his room and took his gun to frighten Griffin. He then fired a shot at the banister while Griffin was running towards him.
O’Neil was released from jail after posting a $50,000 bond.
